The fully-integrated 1.27 MTPA, gas-based urea plant of Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd is located near Durgapur at Panagarh Industrial Park, West Bengal, in eastern India. The Matix plant is among India’s largest single-stream fertiliser facilities.

The plant complex comprises a 54 MW captive power plant, dual rake, railway siding, and utilities spread across approximately 500 acres. One-third of the area around the complex is under green belt with an effluent treatment facility in compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environment (HS&E) standards.

The plant is operating at full capacity.

Matix has acquired technology from globally reputed partners—KBR, USA, for ammonia and Saipem, Italy, for urea.

While the ammonia plant has a capacity of 2,200 TPD or 0.73 MTPA, the urea plant has a capacity of 3,850 TPD or 1.27 MTPA.
